Renault UK has been awarded a Prince Michael International Road Safety Award for its work in producing a record five cars with five EuroNCAP stars – and bringing the safety message to 15,000 primary schools across the UK with its Safety Matters programme.

'Safety for All' is, says Renault, the driving force behind all its design and development programmes as well as all its other activities from customer care to community relations. Part of this activity is the 'Safety Matters' road safety campaign to provide support for primary schools. This five-year national road safety programme for primary schools across the UK is especially recognised through this award.

Renault's MD Philippe Talou-Derible while accepting the award said: "I am delighted to accept this prestigious award on behalf of all the people at Renault who make safety central to everything we do. Roadsafe's recognition of our efforts to make roads safer for motorists and pedestrians alike highlights the fact that Renault is in the vanguard of motor-industry thinking about safety."
