Management software is giving fleets an additional weapon in their attack on perceived poor dealer service and maintenance standards. Factors being monitored through the use of e-commerce include how easy, or difficult, it is to book cars in for maintenance work and the actual quality of technical work being undertaken.

However, software provider cfc solutions believes fleets’ ‘policing’ of dealer standards electronically has come about as a side effect of the increasing need to monitor servicing records to meet the latest Health and Safety requirements.

“We have been aware of growing fleet discontent about dealer standards for some time,” says cfc managing director Jason Francis. “What really set in motion the trend for monitoring the dealer service standards situation is the need to focus on maintenance to meet HSE guidelines. Some fleet managers decided to put in place measures that tackle both issues at once.”
