Renault is hoping a free breakdown cover offer will help it retain customers when their cars come out of warranty.

The Four For Free offer is an extension of the carmaker’s existing three-year Renault Assistance plan, provided in conjunction with the AA to buyers of new Renaults. Now customers with a Renault aged between three and seven years, which is MoT’d at a participating dealer in the franchise network, will receive an additional year of roadside assistance without an additional charge.

“Four For Free is a response to increased service capacity within the Renault network which now has the ability to cope with increased service volumes and will see Renault focus on service marketing and improved aftersales loyalty,” says a spokesman.

Renault is asking interested customers to register via its website and customer service line, after which it will send them a voucher with details of their nearest participating dealer.

The cover includes 24-hour breakdown assistance, home-start assistance and recovery within 10 miles to the nearest Renault dealer.
