Sykes Pickavant has formed a dedicated automotive diagnostics team as it looks to boost sales of its tools.

The move is part of its ongoing strategy to provide professionally delivered, customer focused support and advice.

The four-strong team, which will cover the UK and Ireland, aims to visit garages, workshops and recovery operators to demonstrate products, as well as providing aftersales support. It will also be actively promoting the company’s training courses.

“At Sykes, we see ourselves as more than just a diagnostics manufacturer, but as a well-rounded diagnostics service provider” says Shaughan Nicholson, diagnostics team leader.

“The tools are part of something much bigger. A diagnostic tool, perhaps more than any other tool, can save a garage a great deal of time and money. Therefore, purchasing diagnostic equipment, committing to training and signing-up for technical support are three of the most important investments made by garage owners today.”

Sykes has plans to introduce new tools in 2006 and will be recruiting additional team members early next year.

The team consists of Mark Kimberley, Shaughan Nicholson, Chris Coulter and Mike Mercer.
