BMW is recalling all recently-built models with a six-cylinder diesel engine which were built in December 2004 and January 2005. This covers models such as the X5 3.0d, 730d, 530d and 330d.

The problem lies with fuel injection pump, which will need replacing.

Many of these cars have probably not yet been delivered to customers, but BMW will be contacting all those who have taken delivery already.
