Alan Pulham, head of the National Franchised Dealers' Association, is to be replaced by Sue Robinson when he retires in June.

Robinson, is currently the Retail Motor Industry Federation's director of external affairs. She is also appointed director of policy - a role which will place her as the head of the RMI's policy mission.

"Alan has served the needs of the RMI's franchised dealer members for the last 15 years, and has helped them through some tumultuous times," says RMI chief executive Matthew Carrington.

"In that time his knowledge and insight have proved to be invaluable."

Other changes in a restructuring at the RMI will see Ray Holloway become director of Independent Member Associations. He will retain his present position as director of Independent Garage and Fuels Division and also takes on responsibility for the Motorcycle Retailers Association, Motorcycle Rider Training Association and the Cherished Number Dealers' Association.

Frank Finch is to be appointed director of standards. His primary goal will be to raise consumer confidence in the industry. The RMI Conciliation Service will report to him. He will also continue to advise on issues concerning the MRA and MRTA.

Director of member services, Beryl Walsh-Atkins, is to become group director of marketing and membership. She will retain her existing membership responsibilities but add to them the Federation's press and PR function within a new marketing structure.
