GMAC, General Motors’ finance division, is to bankroll a new finance initiative intended to raise the profile and sales volume of value brand Chevrolet.

The marque, with its American name and Korean products, needs marketing innovation to grab attention. No interest, no fees and no monthly payments are the hooks on which Chevrolet is hanging ‘3 and Easy’.

Under the terms of the scheme, customers pay one-third of the list price when the order is placed, one-third at the end of 12 months and the final third at the end of the second year.

Based on a pioneering scheme run in Austria, the “totally transparent” offer applies from July to the Matiz 1.0 SE, Kalos 1.4 SX, Lacetti 1.6SX and the Tacuma 1.6SX.

Chevrolet UK marketing director Rob Smettem claims that the 3 and Easy initiative extends the brand’s ‘hassle free’ buying proposition, consolidating the existing three years’ free servicing and roadside assistance plan.
