Experian, the global information solutions company, has teamed up with Box UK in order to allow dealers to manage their own websites.

The collaboration will provide dealer groups with a content management system, Connetric from Box and Experian’s AutoLocate service.

The AutoLocate will give dealer groups the ability to make changes and updates to their own websites instead of having to rely on external support.

Rob Whalley, managing director of Experian’s Automotive division, said: “Dealers today face a range of issues forcing them to rethink how they operate in the market and the internet is one of them.

“Experian’s AutoLocate service is already used by some of the UK’s top motor retailers to help them develop a strong online presence and, through our work with clients, we discovered a strong desire among dealers for more flexibility and control of their own websites.”

Somerset based Howards Group is one of the first businesses to adopt the new system for its websites.

Roger Rowlett, operations director at Howards Group, said: ““We recognised the value of being able to control our own website. As the internet develops, the most effective sites are the ones that provide the most up-to-date and relevant content for their clients. The AutoLocate and Box UK solution gives us this. Another major benefit of running a content managed site is that we no longer need external support, which saves us both time and money.

“We now have complete control over our site and the flexibility and efficiency this gives us allows us to spend more time selling more cars to more customers.”
