A Kent-based car dealer has been charged with offences following the UK’s biggest robbery of £53 million at the Securitas depot in Tonbridge last week.

John Fowler, a car salesman from Staplehurst, Kent, has been charged with one count of conspiracy to rob Securitas at Tonbridge, and three charges of kidnapping depot manager Colin Dixon, his wife Lynn and their nine-year-old son Craig.

Stuart John Royle, a car salesman with no fixed home, has also been charged with conspiracy to rob.

They are due to appear at Maidstone Magistrates’ Court today.
