A Carcraft car salesman was ambushed by a knifeman and dragged from a £16,000 Audi during a test drive at a Darlaston warehouse.

The salesman, who did not want to be named, was taking the potential ‘customer’ for a demonstration of a 2004 Audi A3 was threatened with a knife after meeting up with two accomplices in a separate car in a lay by.

The rep said his attacker, who was Asian, arrived at the showroom without any suspicious behaviour.

"He was in his late twenties, early thirties and he told me he worked at the HMV distribution centre in Solihull and that he was looking for a family car,” said the rep.

"The man rolled the window down and said to his accomplices, ‘this is the car, this is the car. Then he told me to get out and said he had a knife. The others grabbed me and pulled me out. They left me at the side of the road and they sped off in the direction of Junction 9 of the M6.”

The A4 was blue with the registration number RA04JCZ. (expressandstar.com)
