Chapel House Motor Company has acquired West Coast Saab and Hyundai at Ainsdale, Southport.

As the transaction was a share acquisition, Chapel House will retain all staff. The new business is set to increase Chapel House’s turnover to £40m.

“The business is located adjacent to our Citroën site at Southport. It made sound sense to acquire it,” says Julian Edghill, company secretary at Chapel House.

Meanwhile, redevelopment of the showroom and workshop is expected to start within the next few weeks.

“Eventually we hope to put more franchises on the site to make it into a one-stop motor village for the locals,” says Edghill.

In order to further expand the business and relieve congestion at both dealerships, Chapel House will build an off-site vehicle and parts distribution centre in St Helen’s.

Ground tests are ongoing at the site and Edghill says that work here will also commence within the next few weeks.
