Citroën Retail Group has opened its two-storey 10-car showroom on Coventry Business Park in the city (revealed in AM January 26).

Located just off the A45, the 2.8-acre site opened on April 20 and hopes to sell 1,500 new and 2,500 used cars over the coming year.

Citroën Retail Group, which has two sites in both London and Manchester, one in Birmingham and one in Glasgow, hopes the new dealership, the group’s biggest, will increase its annual turnover to £250m.

The dealership features 12 workshop bays for cars and LCVs as well as an automated class seven MoT bay, a new vehicle preparation centre and a van business centre sales operation.

Ian Drinkwater, senior press officer at Citroën UK, says: “We also have a large parts facility and local traders will be able to purchase parts using our internet site.”

Thierry Calewaert, retail group director, says: “The opening of Citroën Coventry has certainly raised awareness of the brand in the area and it was particularly pleasing to note the very high levels of interest that we experienced during the open weekend. In fact, with 53 firm orders placed in the first two days, many of these being conquest sales, we have been extremely encouraged by the confidence expressed by local car buyers in the brand.”
