Martyn Beever has acquired FR Pulleyn’s Skoda franchise in York.

The site, which began trading under its new owner on August 1, previously housed Proton and Isuzu, as well as Skoda.

Beever, a Skoda sponsored retailer, has no plans for immediate expansion from the brand. “The site has massive potential for development, but at this stage it is my intention to maximise the existing layout. The message to the customer is: same site, same staff, same great experience, new name over the door!”

He plans to sell 100 new and 100 used cars by the end of the year.

“Skoda has a very loyal following in the area and the new product is attracting more and more customers,” he said.

Beever’s background lies with the Volkswagen group. For the last three years he worked as a Skoda dealer principal for Hayselden in Doncaster.

“I decided it was time to step out on my own. This is obviously a fantastic opportunity for me and it’s my goal for this site to become a flagship within the brand, while delivering an excellent customer service experience,” said Beever.

FR Pulleyn’s previous owners decided to sell the site following a family decision.
