Renault dealer Gravells is building a new £3m workshop and showroom in Kidwelly, Wales.

The seven-acre site will house a 20,000sq ft dealership, comprising of an 18-bay workshop, three car showroom, parts store, offices and training rooms, plus a forecourt displaying up to 200 used cars.

The development will allow Gravells’ current outlet in Kidwelly, refurbished in 2004, to focus purely on sales. It has a workshop on site at present.

Gravells has traded in Kidwelly for 75 years, and has held the Renault franchise since 1954.

“Although we’re based in a town of 3,000 people we retail 4,000 cars a year,” said general manager Jonathan Gravell. “With such a large customer base, we need to expand our sales and aftersales facilities.”

Gravell expects the expansion to create up to 20 jobs for technicians, administrators and sales executives. “We are currently completing our build plan and aim to be operational at the new site from autumn 2008,” he added.
