Corgi, the British toy manufacturer, has “beaten Detroit to the punch” by signing with a fuel cell manufacturer to develop eco-friendly toys that run on water.

The toy company will reveal two remote control models which use fuel cell technology and has claimed it is ahead of the US market for launching green technology.

Corgi has developed the new toy cars with Singapore-based Horizon Fuel Cell Technologies. Horizon's ‘h’ racer fuel cell toy car is believed to have sold in the order of tens of thousands of units worldwide since 2006, making it the biggest selling fuel cell product to date.
