Rickey Reid in the refurbished Mazda showroom

Hodgson Mazda has unveiled its new look showroom in Newcastle after investing £250,000 for a refurbishment.

The new showroom interior features a suspended ceiling, 48 spot lights, new carpets, frosted glass and crome details. A unique wall mural graphically detailing the history of Mazda has also been specially fitted.

The family owned business also spent £30,000 on new MoT testing equipment for its services department.

Ricky Reid, Hodgson Mazda and Suzuki sales manager, said: “The new showroom improves the whole customer experience as well as improving the working environment for the staff.

“The new full service reception area is more open plan and comfortable. The whole effect is one in keeping with the ambitious plans that managing director Steve Hodgson has for the business.”

Hodgson employs 140 staff and operates Mazda, Toyota and Suzuki dealerships from its Silverlink base. It also owns another Toyota dealership including a new rental business from the MetroCentre in Gateshead. It is planning to open a second franchise at its MetroCentre operation and has plans to substantially increase its £58m turnover this year.
