SKF acquires Italian parts business

SKF, the automotive parts manufacturer, has acquired Italian driveshaft and velocity joint manufacturer GLO for an undisclosed sum.

GLO made €17 million (£14m) in sales in 2007 and is located in Poggio Rusco, in north east Italy.

SKF said the acquisition, which is still subject to approval, would allow it to strengthen its presence in the European aftermarket segment.
