Bristol Street Motors in Oxford has become the latest example of Peugeot’s optional blue box corporate identity following a
£1.8 million refurbishment.

There are 25 more UK Peugeot dealerships which are still to be refurbished with the blue box design this year.

In 2007 Vertu Motors, Bristol Street’s holding company, acquired the Iffley Road site, which has been around since 1950 and was “in much need of some TLC”.

The work included environmental remed-iation which included removing oil tanks from underneath the site.

The build took six months and was overseen by Walton Design and undertaken by SY Building and Electrical.

Robert Forrester, chief executive of Vertu Motors, said: “This project has been one of the most complex I have been involved with.

“The result is tremendous and gives us a massive opp-ortunity to grow Peugeot’s market share in the Oxford area.

Staff at Bristol Street Motors have waited many years for the investment and have proved during the six months of disruption that they are a first-class team who have now been given the tools to deliver.”
