Dealers missing chances to sell extended warranties

Dealers are missing chances to sell extended warranties and service plans despite high interest among people buying used cars, according to RAC Warranty.

It said the reason is many selling used cars have no structured process in place. Ian Simpson, sales and marketing director, said: “There are thousands of lost profit opportunities passing by each week.”

RAC Service and Maintenance, a new product, is not subject to FSA regulation.
