Ocean Group has announced its acquisition of Yeovil Audi from the Loders Motor Group.

It is Ocean's second Audi business, joining its existing Poole Audi site, and will add 35 staff to the 105 strong team.

David Kelly, managing director of Ocean Automotive, said: "This is an exciting time for the Ocean Automotive Group.

"Sales have been at an all-time-high this year, where conscientious customers have been looking to spend their hard-earned money on a quality product, delivered with a quality service.

"The acquisition will afford us some of the economy of scale benefits, allowing us to be even more responsive to customer demand and to further improve our customer experience."

It is the latest of a series of ownership changes amidst the UK's Audi dealer network, which some industry observers believe is due to the high investment demands of the franchise in recent years leaving some franchisees highly geared.

Audi dealer Wayside was bought by Jardine Motors Group earlier this year, which subsequently sold on the Peterborough Audi site to Vindis.

And last month Colebrook and Burgess, which solely represented Audi at four sites, was sold to Benfield Motor Group.
