Emac managing director Angela Barrow has led a management buyout of the service plan specialist.

She plans to grow the business in its core service plan operation and with broader support services for motor retail.

Barrow said: "The success of Emac has seen significant interest from organisations interested in acquiring the business over recent years. I am naturally delighted therefore that I have the opportunity to lead the business to the next stage of its expansion.

Emac has delivered consistent growth, having developed the service plan concept in the UK. The creation of the required technologies and expertise has established Emacas a brand that people within the motor retail recognise and respect.

"We now plan to ensure these attributes maximise and accelerate the growth of the business in our core area, and in the development of new offerings. In this respect, activity is well underway to develop both organically and potentially through acquisition”.

Barrow said she sees tremendous potential for the business to ensure its new status to deliver a nimble and imaginative proposition centred around the dealer showroom.
