Ford will launch its B-Max MPV in the UK early next year to compete with the Vauxhall Meriva. Ford B-Max without the standard B-pillars

The new model features twin sliding doors to help gain access to the car and it does away with the B-pillars (Ford calls it integrated B-pillar construction) for added accessibility.

The B-Max will launch is a low-CO2 1.0-litre three cylinder Ecoboost engine with auto start stop.

Based on Ford's global B-car platform - shared with the new Fiesta - the B-Max is slightly more than four metres in length, just 11cm longer than the Fiesta five-door, and is 32 cm shorter than the new C-Max.
