Trusteddealers.co.uk, the online used car sales website put together and owned by franchised dealers, is now selling used vans - and has attracted more top UK dealers to join the business.

The website was conceived by Ken Savage from Perrys and Lookers’ Peter Jones with Robert Forrester of Vertu Motors joining them on the board when it was launched with 17 dealer groups in January (to read the article click here).

New members since launch include Beadles; Currie Motors; Eastern Western; Hartwell; Hendy Group; Holdcroft; John Clark; John Martin; Lloyds; Pentagon; Phoenix; Renault Retail; Robinsons; Rybrook; SG Smith; Snows; Spires (M25 Audi); Sturgess and Swansway.

The business is run by former Motors.co.uk executives Neil Addley and Andrew Dyson, with the site designed by company Denison Automotive.

Its business model is similar to that of propery website rightmove.co.uk, in that dealers advertising on it will become equal owners of the business, paying a one-off membership fee.
