BMW invests £500m in UK Mini production

BMW will invest £500 million in UK car production at its factories in Oxford, Swindon and Hams Hall.

The announcement safeguards 5,000 jobs and the extra money will help fund the production of the next generation Mini.

Mini will launch its new Coupe model this year and then a Roadster in 2012. Both models will be built in Oxford.
