Direct debit speeds up online used car buying

Autorola UK is introducing a direct debit only policy for trade buyers, to reduce the time taken between buying a used car online and it being delivered.

Trials with 51% of Autorola’s 2,000 active buyers have seen the average time it takes between buying a vehicle and having it delivered on site cut from eight to an average of four days by using direct debit - helping to improve stock turn.

Autorola is now able to arrange delivery immediately after a used vehicle has been sold online, safe in the knowledge that payment will be complete by time of collection.

Autorola UK sales director Jon Mitchell (pictured) said: “We are constantly looking at new ways to make both buyers and sellers more efficient, while improving stock turn and reducing administrative time.

“Direct Debit reduces administration for everybody included in the sale of a vehicle, including the buyer, vendor and our accounts team. It’s proving a real win-win situation.”

Autorola UK has nearly 12,500 used vehicles on its online portal, belonging to leasing companies, dealers, OEMs, rental companies and large blue chip fleets.
