Vertu Honda hopes to have scored a sponsorship slam dunk by signing a deal which will see its continued support of the Newcastle Eagles basketball team into the new season.

Vertu Honda, which is part of Vertu Motors plc, has provided the team with a number of brand new Honda Civic cars to boost their bid to drive their success the British Basketball League.

The team, which will be bidding to regain the league title it achieved in the 2014/15 season visited Vertu House, central support services for Vertu Motors plc, to celebrate the renewal of the support for next season.

Head coach Fab Flournoy delivered a motivational speech on leadership and teamwork to colleagues at Vertu House during the visit.

Chris Taylor, managing director at Vertu Honda, said: “We are proud to support Newcastle Eagles for another season.

“Supporting the local community is a high priority for Vertu Honda and the people of the North East are incredibly passionate about sport.

“We are proud to be associated with one of the most successful sports team in the region.”
