Endeavour Automotive has secured planning permission to develop a new Hyundai dealership in Watford.

The Edgware-based retail group, which operates four Hyundai and six Volvo dealerships across Buckinghamshire, Essex, Hertfordshire and London will relocate its existing Watford facilities to two units at the newly-developed Trade City in industrial estate on Thomas Sawyer Way.

Endeavour had expressed an interest in leasing the siteearlier this year and applied for planning permission to make the necessary changes in October, according to a report by Insider Media.

The report stated that planners from Watford Borough Council had said the change of use would "not compromise" the original Trade City scheme, which was intended to accommodate industrial and warehouse users.

"The car dealership use will provide levels of employment that are comparable, if not high, that the permitted uses," they added.
