Innovation Automotive has been designated as the official distributor for the Chinese Seres and Skywell car brands in the UK.

Operating under the name IA Electric Vehicles, the Cirencester-based company already features the DFSK compact electric van in its lineup – DFSK is part of the Seres Group - and anticipates introducing the Seres and Skywell brands in the second quarter of this year.

China’s Seres Group, through its California-based manufacturer, is set to unveil its first model in the UK, the Seres 3 electric SUV, priced at less than £30,000 in April.

Meanwhile, Skywell, another fast-growth Chinese automotive brand, plans to launch the premium mid-size SUV, the Skywell ET5, with a range of 304 miles (WLTP) in the summer. Pricing has not yet been disclosed.

Gary White, IA Electric Vehicles' general manager, commenting on the addition of the new brands to its portfolio said: "This is a very thrilling period for IA Electric Vehicles as we welcome Seres and Skywell into the family, alongside DFSK. Both brands are highly regarded globally, and their technology, comfort, and refinement align perfectly with the UK marketplace."

IA Electric Vehicles said it is actively seeking to establish a franchise dealer network in the UK for the distribution of the new vehicle models.
