Updated for 2018: The AM250 the most comprehensive countdown of the largest UK motor retailers, now available from AM

For the first time, the most comprehensive countdown of the largest UK motor retailers is available from AM.

The AM250 report is out now and will answer these questions:

• Who are the top 250 franchised dealer groups?
• Where are they located?
• Who are their directors?
• How are they performing financially?
• Which manufacturer brands do each of them hold?

AM editor Jeremy Bennett said: "For 20 years AM has tracked the standing and activities of the 100 biggest UK franchised dealer groups by turnover. The AM100 has become a milestone in the industry, a currency by which many dealers measure their performance and how many suppliers gauge their marketshare.

"Now for the first time AM extends its outlook to the top 250 companies to provide an unprecedented snapshot of the financial health and franchise standing of a large proportion of motor retail, from Pendragon at number one with £4 billion turnover, 23 franchises and 224 franchised outlets, to Dales Central Motors with £23.7 million turnover, five franchises and 11 franchised outlets."

Information on the 250 dealers, includes their position in the countdown, key metrics for the last few years, franchises held and the number of outlets, directors and contact details.

"Now, the retail sector is in a state of constant, almost daily, change," Bennett said.

"Supporting the AM250 supplement is the website AMi (www.am-online.com/ami).

"As well as containing considerably more data on the AM250 and other dealer groups and manufacturer profiles, it is continuously update providing a vital research tool for anyone interested in a further understanding of this £55bn sector."
