Marshall Motor Group has expanded its JLR territory following the acquisition of Cambria Automobiles' Grange JLR Swindon showroom for an undisclosed sum.

JLR is continuing to restructure its dealer network and the addition of this Swindon location follows on from JLR's decision to close the Marshall Peterborough new car sales franchise towards the end of October last year as part of its Reimagine strategy.

Marshall Peterborough is still an authorised repairer and approved used car location for the brands, but JLR has concentrated new car sales for the Cambridgeshire area to Marshall's Cambridge JLR location instead.

This latest deal also concentrates Cambria’s JLR representation to three locations with its Grange luxury dealership brand near the M25 area with Brentwood, Barnet and Hatfield.

Gary Savage, chief executive at Marshall parent company Constellation Retail, said the acquisition represents a positive step towards its wider goal of continuing to grow with JLR as a brand partner.

He said: “The Swindon store is a great geographical fit for us and our customers, offering a contiguous Marshall JLR market area across Cheltenham & Gloucester, Oxford and Newbury.

“I would also like to welcome the Jaguar Land Rover team in Swindon to Marshall and look forward to working with them to grow and develop the business further.”

The facility, located on Dorcan Way, Swindon, features a 130-space rooftop car park, 18 car showroom, 22-bay workshop, 2 MOT bays, a large parts department, as well as used vehicle display and parking areas.

Marshall operates 138 franchise stores representing 25 manufacturer car, van, truck and bike brands across 34 counties in England.

Marshall is part of the Constellation Automotive Group, which includes Webuyanycar, Cinch and BCA.
