Customers will be able to buy a seven-seat Skoda SUV from £23,945 when it reaches showrooms next April.

However buyers who only need five seats can save money.

The cheapest version of the Kodiaq SUV, the £21,495 Kodiaq S with a 1.4TSI 125PS engine, doesn’t have the third row seats. Nor does the SE trim, which costs from £22,945, unless buyers specify a £1,000 option for seven seats.

Large family capacity is standard on high level SE-L trim, and with Kodiaq Skoda has also introduced a new range-topping designation, Edition.

Created to showcase the Kodiaq’s range of equipment, Edition models start from £30,695. Standard equipment includes 19-inch alloy wheels, seven seats, leather upholstery, metallic paint and chrome roof rails.

Technology features include Lane Assist, High Beam Assist, wireless charging and phone box, and Blind spot detection.

These come in addition to equipment on the SE-L  such as dual-zone climate control, powered tailgate, sat-nav with wifi and full LED headlights.

Skoda dealers will begin taking orders in November for April delivery.
