Former Marshall Motor Holdings chief financial officer Mark Raban is joining the Lookers board from July 15, to replace its chief financial officer Robin Gregson.

Gregson (pictured) has stepped down after 10 years in the role at Lookers. He will remain with the group until the end of September to ensure an effective transition, said Lookers.

"Robin has played an important role in the transformation of the Lookers business during his time as CFO. I would like to thank him for his significant contribution to the Group over the last 10 years and wish him well in the future," said Lookers chairman Phil White.

“We are very pleased to welcome Mark to the Board. We will benefit from his extensive retail experience, both in the motor industry and more widely.”

Raban stepped down at Marshall in autumn last year, having been with the AM100 dealer group since 2014, overseeing its IPO and acquisitions alongside chief executive Daksh Gupta.

Raban, whose career has also included senior roles at Inchcape Retail, Borders Group, Selfridges Retail and Burton,  said: "I'm really excited to be joining Lookers, a business which I have admired for some time and which has a strong market position in the sector.

"I am very much looking forward to working with the team to continue to develop the business and take advantage of the many opportunities available."

Gregson said he had enjoyed being part of a strong team at Lookers and he leaves the business in good shape.

"I am proud of the significant milestones achieved during my ten years with Lookers," he said.
