The highest court in the land will deliver its landmark judgement on August 1 on whether,  dealerships should not have sold customers motor finance without telling them exactly how they earn commission.

The industry has been awaiting the decision of the Supreme Court for months since it heard legal arguments around the possibility that motor finance commissions earned by dealerships and brokers, without car buyers being explicitly told the amount earned, amounted to bribes at common law, or to secret profits received by the dealers as fiduciaries in equity.
