Transforming the SsangYong brand

The launch of the Tivoli is a major step for Korea’s oldest automotive brand – it marks the first fruits of Mahindra’s investment in SsangYong and moves the brand into the crossover segment, the industry’s fastest-growing. In both Korea and the UK, the Tivoli is transforming the SsangYong brand and increasing the pace of growth.

SsangYong sales in the UK doubled last year, although numbers remained modest. 2015 has seen growth in all models, even before the launch of the Tivoli. With a catchy TV ad driving a multi-million pound communication campaign the reaction to the Tivoli has been outstanding.

Our parent company, SsangYong Motors, is backed by the Indian conglomerate Mahindra & Mahindra, which has provided financial stability and the investment necessary to develop existing products and launch new models.

In the UK, the brand is backed by Gibraltar-based Bassadone Automotive Group and run by an experienced team, whose members have seen success with Daihatsu, Mitsubishi and Kia.

“SsangYong sales in the UK doubled last year”

There is an opportunity to join the SsangYong family as we seek to fill our open points and further increase the maturity of the franchise. Our leading SsangYong dealers have a range of profiles and locations; however, an entrepreneurial streak and a can-do attitude deliver the strongest results at this stage of the brand’s development.

We pride ourselves on working closely with the SsangYong network on a personal basis and remain committed to this style as our team inevitably grows with the business. There is a strong philosophy of allowing dealers to manage their own businesses via ‘light touch’ management, with a focus on profit through vehicle margin, finance and aftersales.

SsangYong will remain a niche brand that provides additional profit through utilising spare capacity within an existing successful business. So with a great product range of 4x4s, SUVs and an MPV; strong margins; Korean quality and a five-year limitless mileage warranty – what’s stopping you?
