Mercedes-Benz broke through the 5% market share threshold in 2014 with 124,419 registrations and it has grown further since. Sales per franchised outlet have risen from 301 in 2010 to 500 in 2014.

The German premium brand is rolling out a new showroom style, with Drayton Group in Shrewsbury leading the way, and franchisees seem upbeat about the brand, scoring it 9 out of 10 for franchise value.

Compelling PCPs on a revised A-Class and still-fresh C-Class are leading the charge and a new GLC-Class SUV and £61,000 GLE Coupé will bring additional custom.

Its dealers also holding the Smart franchise are also enjoying revived fortunes in 2015, with a new duo to sell – the Renault Twingo-co-developed ForTwo city car and the ForFour supermini, which brings practicality back to the brand. Although Smart’s record 11,800 registrations seem far off, it is set to beat its 2014 full-year total this autumn.
