Bentley’s 18-strong UK franchised network managed to increase the brand’s registrations by almost 20% in 2014.

With a PCP finance product helping to drive sales, the 1,472-unit total was impressive, but still short of the Crewe-based brand’s 2,000-car record from before the 2008 recession. However, Bentley faces much more competition in the luxury car segment today.

When Bentley’s plush SUV, the Bentayga, reaches the market in 2016 the brand can expect another significant boost in sales, much of it conquested from other brands.

The SUV is such an important milestone for Bentley that it is rolling out a new global showroom style to franchisees this year, the first new corporate identity since 2003. It includes display areas, a coffee and champagne bar and a Mulliner suite for product personalisation. For some franchisees, this means relocation to a new facility, while others are extending existing premises.
