Fiat–500L, MPW and Trekking

February 2014

Fiat is introducing a new 120bhp 1.6-litre MultiJet II turbodiesel to the whole 500L range and a 1.4-litre T-Jet petrol engine, also with 120bhp. A six-speed manual gearbox is standard for both and the 500L has 120g/km Co2 emissions, while the Trekking manages 125g/km. Fuel economy for the 500L 1.6 MultiJet II 120 is 61.3mpg and the Trekking delivers 58.7mpg. There are no figures for the 500L MPW with this engine as yet, but of as great an interest to fleet users will be extended service intervals of two years or 20,000 miles.

The 1.4-litre T-Jet turbo petrol engine packs 120bhp too and gives the 500L enough performance to crack 0-62mph in 10.2 seconds. Fiat has yet to confirm economy and emissions figures for this engine.
