Honda–Civic Tourer

January 2014
It’s been 12 years since Honda last had an estate model in the Civic line-up, but it’s been worth the wait as the new Civic Tourer is a very practical, versatile wagon. It offers 624-litres of cargo space in the boot, though 117-litres of this is hidden storage under the load floor. The upside to this is you can store a briefcase or laptop securely out of sight in the boot. Fold the 60/40 split rear seat and you free up to 1668-litres of luggage capacity. Honda also provides its Magic Seat in the rear with a base that tips up to create a large cargo space between the front and rear seats, so you can separate two loads. A 1.8-litre petrol engine is available with six-speed manual or five-speed automatic transmissions, but most company drivers will opt for the refined 1.6-litre turbodiesel with 99g/km CO2 emissions and 74.3mpg combined consumption.
