Pinewood.AI is rolling out a GPT-powered "digital concierge" for use by its dealership clients across the UK.

GPT stands for generative pre-trained transformer (GPT) and is Pinewood.AI's own technology, rather than anything related to a white labelled ChatGPT.

Automotive Intelligence Chat (AI Chat) can help with 24 hour support on areas like booking services, test drives and more.

The new service has been exclusively trained on automotive data, which Pinewood.AI said ensures it stays focused on car-related inquiries.

The service has been designed with "enterprise-grade security to safeguard customers’ information while delivering support".

Kim Costello, global chief marketing officer at Pinewood.AI, said: “AI Chat acts just like a sales rep, in that it grasps nuances and imperfect phrasing to get your customers the response they need, while asking questions effortlessly.

"It chats naturally without needing to repeat context, and it learns from past conversations to deliver the most relevant and helpful responses."

Costello said AI Chat can adapt to answers to match customers' needs against a dealership's resources, while it also has the ability to scrape the internet to analyise specific automative data to provide accurate responses.

She added: "The feedback from piloting was beyond what we could have ever anticipated, with dealers explaining that the tool has helped walk customers step-by-step from their domain to their dealership."

AI Chat has the ability to rank and score leads, giving deeper insights into what customers want, while Google Analytics integration tracks customer interactions and measures performance.

Pinewood.AI confirmed that 48% of conversations with customers on AI Chat happen outside of dealership working hours and indicated that a third of chats lead to inventory and sales-related queries.
