Apprentice Technician

Apprentice Technician/Mechanic Responsibilities: As our Apprentice Technician/Mechanic you'll be operating within the Service department. Accountable to the Workshop Controller and/or Service Manager, this role is your first step into the Motor Industry. Working within one of our franchised dealers you will be given the opportunity to learn from experienced trained Technicians/Mechanics and from a recognised training path designed by the Manufacturer. • Demonstrate a Passion for Engineering and the Automotive Industry • Constantly learn in order to improve your own performance and that of the business • Communicate effectively on a range of topics and with a variety of people • Build positive relationships with colleagues and customers • Behave in accordance with the values of the company and treat colleagues and customers with respect and courtesy • Take responsibility when required and be honest and accountable when things don't go as planned. The ideal Apprentice Technician/Mechanic: All Apprentices are required to demonstrate their abilities in skills such as English language, number skills and information technology. These are essential skills that underpin success in education, employment, lifelong learning and personal development and they are needed to compete effectively in the labour market across any field. As you will be based in a busy workshop with many vehicle movements you will need to be conscious of this environment. Within these environments there is a lot of state-of-the-art equipment, including Manufacturers diagnostic computers, which you will be expected to look after and report any defects. You will be working in a franchised dealer that needs to maintain standards which you will be expected to help with. You will need to hold a full, clean UK driving license. This job is physically demanding with most of the day on your feet and manual handling aspects to the job (training provided). The job will also call for specialist lifting equipment to be used when the object is too heavy for manual handling. Salary Expectation: Competitive. Location: Torbay.
