Scope of Service: 
Our client is looking for engineers to support Connected Car online services. This is a “hybrid” Electrical/IT role requiring skills from both engineering and Software development.

Key Deliverables:  Service to deliver:

Connected Car services/functions to meet the requirements of the Project Description Book and Country Matrix.
For the assigned suite of services the scope includes the full ‘End to End’ specification, development/integration, test and validation including planning to achieve the cost, timing and quality targets for the project..
This will include ensuring services are delivered (and maintained) in accordance with regulatory/legislative requirements and client/automotive compliance/governance. It will also include 3rd line customer technical support.
Assigned suite of Connected Car Services could include; Infotainment services (include Car-apps, eg weather, news, point of interest), Car2X/remote services (for example Speed alert, geofence, cabin preconditioning), telematics services (for example Emergency call, Vehicle tracking system)
Development of services (actual software development) is generally completed by 3rd parties/group partners, however the service will need to provide sufficient technical expertise/understanding of the “developed” solution to enable problem solving.
Also service may include oversight and support of middleware development, where relevant for the service.For assigned suite of services:

Maintain network of contacts within group relevant to services
Create and manage the service roadmap, including participation in any group forums relevant for the services, understanding regulatory/legal framework impacting delivery of the service and maintaining service specifications (for briefing to business or downstream configuration teams
Plan and execute testing of the services (including coordination of any 3rd party testers) through Dev, QA and Live environments.
Complete analysis on changes to existing services on legacy/current platforms and plan delivery lifecycle for those changes
Research requirements, design and specification of existing and new services on future platforms and future product definition
Achieve engineering sign off for their systems, product and/or services in line with the master scheduleKey Skills / Experience:  Experience

Experience of planning/executing testing on automotive Connected Car services (for example infotainment, Car2x, remote, telematics)
Ownership of the end to end lifecycle of services/systems (including research, requirements and specification)
Experience working within the framework and structure of a vehicle project, whilst also managing software development lifecycle framework (eg software version control, content management releases, agile deployment)
Problem solving using logs and other toolsSkills

Ability to communicate at various levels across the company in different forums
Collect, manage and analyse data to produce reports/presentations as appropriate
Design and development in a fast moving IT based connected car environment
Ability to influence colleagues within your area of responsibility
German language preferable but not essential
Ability to analyse and solve complex problems using various tools and techniques including 8D
Able to work effectively with the functional team and more widely across various Bentley stakeholdersPractical & Knowledge: 
Knowledge of front-end and back-end solutions, connectivity and in-car applications
Design and development; Test and measurement; Engineering drawings; Software tools
Proficient understanding of Product Emergence Process (PEP) and the software delivery lifecycle
