Logistics & PDI Manager - Alloy Bodies Manchester
A rare opportunity has been created at Alloy Bodies Limited for an experienced Logistics & PDI Manager to become part of their senior management team.

The choice of many of the UK’s major fleets, contract hire and rental companies, their reputation stands on merit, manufacturing more than 50 bodies each week.
How You’ll Play Your Part
Reporting to the Operations Manager you and your team will be responsible for getting the vehicles to and from their required location within the given time limit safely and as a result must effectively organise and manage a team of drivers and vehicles. You will be responsible for monitoring their progress and being their first point of contact should a problem arise making communication skills vital. These communication skills are also vital in the development of customer relationships, managing questions and complaints calmly and decisively. You will also be responsible for organising and overseeing all health and safety checks and routine vehicle checks and adhering to both company and statutory requirements. Checking all drivers have the correct PPE equipment and be aware of all transport legislation and procedures to ensure company compliance. You will also be involved in strategic development and the maintaining of any administrative records, regularly communicating with line managers to ensure smooth operation and ensure PDI is carried out in a professional & Timely manner and any error trends are documented and reported as per the company policy. You will have 8 staff reporting so will have fabulous leadership qualities. You will be involved in daily production meetings and be responsible for producing daily and weekly reports on throughput.
You will ensure that all staff alike are treated with courtesy and professionalism, making their interaction with Alloy Bodies Ltd an enjoyable and memorable experience. You will also ensure that all deliveries are carried out in a safe and timely manner ensuring all SLA are met and converse with customers in a professional manner to enhance the reputation and standing of Alloy Bodies Ltd. You will also work closely with other managers within the business.
About you
You will have knowledge and understanding of all areas of the supply chain, legislation, and relevant fleet controls. You will be able to efficiently work within a high-volume transport operation, have strong communication and people management skills being able to cultivate strong business relationships on multiple levels. Due to the high level of machinery and the importance of time constraints, you must also be safety conscious with a full knowledge of the transport operations and maintenance and be detail conscious with regards to the vehicles themselves and route planning. You will be able to look at the most cost-effective way to run PDI and the logistics departments and continual improvements and be proficient in the use of technology.
You will have an eye for detail with a background in vehicle body repair/bodyshop environment.
On Offer
40-hour week with a salary up to £45,000.
