Department
MVS is an evolving business supporting customer de-fleet, multiple remarketing channels and a complete range of vehicle preparation services. This requires an agile and responsive operational function able to support a variation of process. As we develop the range of services delivered and expand our customer base, the operations team including gate-in, Swift or other defined processes, inspection, imagery and all variations of vehicle preparation.
Role
Vehicle Technician/Level 2 or 3. Experience with Multiple Manufacturer Brands, reporting to the technical manager.
Main duties will include:
Preparing for MOT tests
Assessing the condition of a vehicle in between required MOTs
Identifying mechanical faults in a vehicle’s brakes, engine, gears or electrics etc.
Fitting parts
Carrying out a multi-point inspection on all vehicles
Ability to draw upon past experience to troubleshoot current issues.
Conduct servicing and repairs to many different types of vehicles.
Reporting all issues/faults found.
Ensure all relevant paperwork is completed accurately and on-time
Follow assignments through to completion, meets deadlines and deliver on promises.
Good communication skills.
The ability to listen to and follow instructions
Excellent practical skills.
The ability to solve problems.
A willingness to work as part of a team & on own initiative.
The ability to concentrate for long periods of time
Skills
We are looking for an experienced mechanical technician. Must hold a valid UK driving licence. The ideal candidate MUST have current experience either working at a main dealer, independent garage or repair centre & be familiar with various main dealer diagnostic equipment/Snap-On diagnostic equipment.
Excellent communication skills
Able to meet targets and deadlines Ability to work effectively in a fast paced and demanding environment.
Work to set KPI productivity targets -Ensure the accurate data processing of your finding after inspection (i.e., damage, defects found)
Maintain a clean and organised work environment.
Experience working in a similar high-volume refurbishment environment preferable.
Vehicle Technician experience is essential to be successful in this role
City & Guilds OR NVQ level 2 or 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance and repair/manufacturer-based level 2/3 qualifications, MOT qualification is desirable.
