AutoLocate, one of the UK's longest-established motor industry internet marketing services, has been acquired by Emap Digital from Didcot-based RCP Consultants, which acquired the company last April.

As part of the deal, RCP will become Emap Digital's strategic technical partner in the continued development of AutoLocate and other automotive-commerce projects. Emap Digital is the online division of Emap plc, which includes the world's largest automotive publishing operation.

Emap Digital director Shane O'Neill said: “Emap has been quick to recognise the potential of new media and the role it will play in business and in relation to consumers. It has a high profile presence across the automotive publishing and information services sector.

“AutoLocate has treated dealers as equal partners and they have not had their relationships with the car-buying public eroded. AutoLocate's expertise is in bringing the two parties together.”

AutoLocate managing director Adrian Black said: “We will develop a package of e-commerce tools and services to help our motor trade customers reach the largest internet audience, reduce costs and improve sales.”
