Autobytel is stepping up its push into the company car market with relaunched fleet pages and increased emphasis on fleet disposal. The internet-based car locator is targeting sub-100 fleet managers with a one-stop shop approach, mirroring the fleet management service offered by major contract hire companies.

The new fleet pages offer more competitive pricing and full on-screen quotes for contract hire, contract purchase or PCP from First Mutual Contracts and Mann Egerton. The service also offers traditional hire purchase and finance leasing from Bank of Scotland. Deloitte & Touche provides tax information and budget reports.

Suzanne Butler, Autobytel head of marketing, said the earlier fleet pages had only given “price indications and were not competitive”. Fleet managers had to enter request details and were then e-mailed accurate quotes. As a result, few used the service.

Meanwhile, contract hire and leasing giant, Fleetlease, has signed a disposal agreement with Autobytel which will see its 19,000 ex-company car fleet put on sale direct to the public through the website.
