Motor Solutions will from next month attempt to give retail buyers service similar to the level enjoyed by company car drivers. It will operate as a separate business to DC Cook's dealerships.

##Hull(1)--right## Colin Hull, Motor Solutions managing director (right), was previously fleet manager for Europcar's 25,000 vehicles in the UK. He has been working closely with David Cook (son of the group chairman Derek) and IT manager Simon Gleadhall.

The website will offer finance from Abbey National including PCPs and personal loans with deferred payments. Motor Solutions will be paid commission of 2-3% instead of the usual 8-15% margin earned by an intermediary. Motor, travel, household and personal insurance will be available.

Hull said the most important single element was a branded credit card issued by one of two banks involved with Motor Solutions, whereby for an annual fee of £12, holders can claim a package of discounts similar to the Easy Options charge card issued in conjunction with Overdrive, a subsidiary of PHH Europe, one of DC Cook's partners.

Fleet discounts of up to 40% on servicing, repairs and maintenance will be available at around 12,500 outlets.
