Autohit has made it easier for consumers to compare prices on automotive websites with the launch of the www.carpricecheck.com website.

Consumers select the make and model they are interested in or type in the details of the best deal they have found on the internet. A search engine on the Carpricecheck.com site uses the information to find the best deal from UK vehicle retailers situated on the net.

Steve Evans, managing director of Autohit.com, said: “The variety of choice on the internet can be a bit overwhelming. We looked at this and thought about the idea of an 'intelligent agent' that did the job for them. And that's exactly what Carpricecheck does.”

The site currently features prices from Tins (Pendragon), Jamjar (Direct Line/Dixon Motors), OneSwoop, Dixon Motors, Virgin Cars and Carbusters (Consumers' Association). It also offers part exchange.

A list of the best deals found on the web is compiled and e-mailed to the customer. They have the choice of going back to the original quote or securing a deal with a supplier on the list. Alternatively, they can ask Autohit.com to find the most competitive quote from its network of UK dealers.
