Hot on the heels of Daewoo comes Isuzu which has announced new year price reductions of up to 10.25% across the 4x4 Trooper range.

Average reductions are of 7%, ranging from £1,050 to £3,255 off 2000 list prices. Biggest reductions come at the luxury end of the range. The flagship Insignia model, for example, has been reduced by 10.25% (£3,000) to £26,950.

Other reductions include £1,150 off the 3.5 petrol Standard (now £17,950), £1,250 off the 3.0 diesel turbo Citation auto (£23,700) and £1,750 off the 3.5 petrol Duty (£21,750).

Commenting on the new list prices Ed Swatman, Isuzu (UK) chief executive, said: "Previously we have maintained our competitiveness by allowing our flexibility when dealing with individual customers, something which will also ensure residual values are unaffected by the new pricing structure."
