Daewoo Cars is shutting 32 of its 74 sales and service centres located in Halfords stores.

The move - part of an operational review - means that while Halfords will still carry out service, repair and warranty work in the affected sites (branded as approved service centres), customers eligible for the three years free servicing and warranty work will no longer benefit from free collection and delivery of their car or a courtesy car.

The Daewoo Approved Service Centres will no longer offer a new car purchasing programme.

The sites to be closed are at: Rayleigh, Leamington, Merthyr, Preston, York, Margate, Redditch, Huddersfield, Inverness, Brighton, Dunfermline, Scarborough, Yeovil, Trowbridge, Paisley, Mansfield, Newport, Stratford, Wigan, Llandudno, Penzance, Southport, Wakefield, Wolverhampton, Bracknell, Barrow, Altrincham, Durham, Luton, Evesham, Grantham and Hereford.
