Autotrader.co.uk has signed a partnership with Microsoft's car buying and ownership website, MSN Carview, to provide an interactive used car service.

When the site (www.carview.co.uk) goes live later this month Autotrader.co.uk will enable users to place online adverts for used cars to be broadcast on both this and its own site, WAP and digital TV services.

Autotrader.co.uk will provide the inventory and facilities to power used car searches.

Peter McCullough, Auto Trader Digital managing director, said: “Working closely with Microsoft, we'll demonstrate to car manufacturers they can attract a significant audience for their high quality used/approved vehicles and that we have the capabilities to streamline the collection and distribution of that information to the consumer.”

The alliance is the latest MSN has and will be announcing in the run-up to going live.

Last month, MSN Carview announced a partnership with Pendragon to offer administrative support and to develop and maintain Carview's customer operations centre.

Also, Cap Network will provide used car pricing information to www.carview.co.uk together with more than 4,000 pages of information on every make, model and trim of vehicle available for sale in the UK, creating what the two companies claim will be the most comprehensive new car research facility on any UK website.

At launch Carview will be integrated into MSN.co.uk.
